Australia’s Best Influencer Marketing Platform

Do you ever wonder how some influencers seem to have endless collaboration offers from brands? I, myself have found myself wondering:

Do they shoot off hundreds of messages each week, pitching themselves to brands?

Do they just know all the right people?

Are they whacked with a lucky stick?

WHICH IS IT!?!

Fear not my friend, I’m about to let you in on a little secret. When I learned about this, I suddenly had enough brand collaborations and content creation gigs that I was able to resign from my part-time job

A marketplace for brand collabs

Rather than sliding into the DM’s of brands, using a generic copy/pasted message (do not recommend), a more professional way to market yourself is via an influencer marketing platform! Create a profile for yourself and wait for brands to approach you or apply for their campaigns, yourself!

Not sure where to start? Let me tell you a bit more about one of the better influencer marketing platforms available, The Right Fit (theright.fit).

theright.fit describes itself as: “a marketplace to connect talent with brands & clients”

If you represent a Brand, you can easily find models, influencers, photographers, actors for your next campaign. If you are the ‘talent’, you can search all the job offers available to you and submit your application to whichever ones you like!

How it works for brands

  1. Describe your project, who you are looking for, your budget and start dates

  2. Wait for the applications to roll in. Review their profiles, photos, testimonials and quotes.

  3. Chat. Communicate in real time with real talent. Discuss & negotiate rates, requirements, send photos, and organise zoom castings!

  4. Book them

  5. Pay! The Right Fit holds the talents' pay at the start of the job and releases it to them when completed. All jobs have a flat commission of 20% + GST (unless you're a PRO account)

If you’re a small business owner reading this, you can literally sign up today and post your first campaign for FREE. It’s an easy, low-risk way to shop for talent, find reliable influencers and gain a heap of UGC (user generated content) for your brand!

How it works for talent

  1. Create a profile & sign up for FREE. Describe yourself, upload photos & videos, and link your social media profiles.

  2. Get notified - New casting calls and jobs will be sent straight to your inbox.

  3. Apply for the jobs you love

  4. Chat with your prospective clients

  5. Get booked - When the client accepts, you are sent a booking confirmation and legal contracts are automatically created to keep you safe & protected. Your payment is put into an escrow account until the job is completed so you can be sure you’ll get paid! You and your client are protected by our $20M public liability and property damage insurance, too.

  6. Get paid - once the job is complete, funds are released 48 hours later straight to your bank account!

What if I don’t have many followers?

A common concern I hear from many aspiring content creators and influencers is that their follower count is not impressive enough. But did you know that a report by Later Blog recently found that micro-influencers (especially those with between 0-25k followers) actually have the highest engagement rate & therefore often have the best return on investment? Specifically, $6.50 for every $1 spent. Which is why more and more brands are moving away from traditional ‘macro’ influencer (accounts with hundreds of thousands of followers or more) collaborations, which are extremely costly, and focusing more on those with micro influencers and niche content creators

Bottom line? Your follower count will matter to some brands but it won’t matter to all of them.

One of my favourite features of theright.fit is that you can search job listings according to required follower count. If you have 1,500 followers for example, you can narrow down the searches to only see campaigns applicable to you. The platform won't actually allow you to apply for a campaign if you don’t have the required minimum follower count.

NOTE: I personally started working with brands when I had only 1,700 followers on my Instagram account. That was before I knew about theright.fit and without reaching out to brands in the DM’s asking for collabs! So it's possible for you too, don't be disheartened if you don't have tens of thousands of followers, it’s about the content that you are able to create for a brand that will give you a leading edge anyway

Before moving on to the next point, there probably needs to be a distinction made between an INFLUENCER and a CONTENT CREATOR

Am I an influencer or content creator? / do I want to hire an influencer or a content creator?

First of all, let me ask you a question *Brands I’m speaking to you on this one*

What is the aim of your campaign? Is it to get thousands of new eyeballs on your product? Or is it to gain some fresh creative imagery/reels to post on your socials?

As we explain in one of our sister articles over here: “An influencer is someone who extends influence over other people’s buying decisions. To put it simply, influencers influence. People follow the influencer’s advice and opinions because it is assumed they know best, which helps to build brand awareness through high-quality content. On the other hand, A content creator is often thought of as being a blogger, vlogger, photographer, graphic artist, or anyone who produces content for online audiences to consume.

What’s so special about TRF

What’s so special about theright.fit? Well, they take the cake when it comes to market share with over 17,000 talent profiles and 11,000 clients. Not only that but the platform has facilitated over 16,000 transactions between brands and talent. The influencer marketing industry has really skyrocketed in the last five years and its no wonder when we hear that brands see *on average* a $6.50 return per $1 spent on investing in influencer marketing. Or, $18

I personally have used a number of social media networking platforms but none have had quite the selection that theright.fit offers here in Australia. Other standout features, I love include:

  • Payment is sorted entirely through the app. theright.fit just keeps a small percentage as any other agency would too.

  • Every booking made is automatically covered by their $20 million Public and Products Liability Insurance. In addition, all PRO talent are covered for up to $5,000 for General Product Insurance.

  • In case you missed it the first time, the platform is FREE to use. You only pay when the job is done (*if you are a Brand reading this).

  • For talent, you should be paid 48hrs after the date the job is completed. All payment processing is handled by Stripe.

How to ensure you get the most out of the platform

Brands and businesses are investing a high portion of their budgets to influencer marketing nowadays — simply because, when done right, it works

Ultimately, theright.fit is a marketplace connecting brands with talent and vice versa. With over 30,000 members, we cannot guarantee that all members listed with us have the best of intentions. We screen every applicant and monitor accounts closely to ensure they abide by our T&Cs but it is impossible to say there are no members who might have ill intent.

Unfortunately, you might come across situations where an influencer does not supply you with the agreed upon content on time, the brand who showed an interest in booking you might ghost you and not reply after ‘booking’ you. These things happen in the industry. Here’s what we recommend you do alongside using the platform to ensure campaign success:

  • For ‘contra’ arrangement (where product is gifted to an influencer in exchange for ‘content’ always have a contract in place between you (Brand) and the Talent you are booking. If you are ‘The Talent’ and the brand does not have a contract, insist on one yourself. At the very least, the contract should stipulate the terms of the work agreement, the exact content requested and any deadlines, Then it should be signed by both parties before working together.

  • If you are a brand looking for talent, please do actually take the time to carefully inspect the talent’s portfolio of work, read their reviews from past clients, check their statistics and demographics. While theright.fit does its very best to vet all members, it’s very possible that some profiles slip through the cracks and the ultimate responsibility lies with you as the brand owner to triple check everything.

NOTE: When you upgrade to a PRO account as a brand, you will automatically gain access to talent analytics.

As with any form of marketing for your businesses, it’s important to do your due diligence before hiring talent. theright.fit offers you a place to submit job opportunities and be listed as talent but ultimately it is your responsibility to determine which person is the right fit for your campaign. We make it as simple as possible for you to make an informed decision based on the information available to you

I hope that has shed a little light on one of Australia's most popular influence marketing platforms and how to use it! Get started right away on theright.fit by creating a FREE account right now!

P.S. Don’t forget to post a job! It’s Free! Posting a job enables you to search the entire talent database on theright.fit!
